Last night in Chicago we had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in a one-of-a-kind experience with Nike Chicago as they unveiled their new collaboration with Chicago based artist Cody Hudson. We were invited into a space that was basically part art studio and dining, welcome to the Higher Than Air Supper Club.

Cody Hudson is a graphic design artist whose studio just happens to be located on the Westside of Chicago and is full of his amazing work. This is his second installation with Nike’s A.I.R. (artist in residence) program. It is bold, it’s colorful, and it’s humorous and memorable.

We were welcomed into the Higher Than Air Supper Club with a mixed cocktail and welcomed to view the space before dinner officially started. Within the space we were able to get a hands-on view of the new collection that takes notes from 60s counter-culture through bold colors, graphics and text. While viewing the collection it felt like you were in an art show as sculptures lined the room and these amazing art pieces filled the walls, there even was a keyboardist to set the vibes.

The collection consists of windbreakers, t-shirts, running shorts, socks, hats and of course three pairs of sneakers. In his story with Nike he says,"The hand-painted dot pattern that is used through the line was meant to convey a feeling of movement and motion, but in a less-than-perfect way," Hudson says. "To me, the dots feel like individuals all coming together to form something bigger when you see it as a larger pattern."

And that pattern was projected throughout the space during the dinner party.

The dinner party was amazing with the food served by Executive Chef Max Robbins of Longman & Eagle, Drinks by Land & Sea Department and multiple musical performances throughout the evening. Wow, it was such a cool atmosphere talking to your new neighbor about how great the salmon tasted and the amazingness of the kale cheddar moment and passing food along the table like we were at Thanksgiving. Another cool aspect was a lot of the invitees were chosen through the Nike SNKRS app so no the room wasn't full of influencers or press and such but real people. That was such a cool moment to me. Not to mention that we were all gifted with two pieces from the collection!

Thank you Nike Chicago for the experience and the memories. Cody Hudson's new collection is available today, you can shop it online and in-store at places like Nike Chicago.
