Aleali May is our sole sister that keeps on giving when it comes to sneakHER culture. If you don't know who Aleali May is - we would be somewhat shocked. No worries though, because CNK Daily as a collective has a responsibility to put you up on game. Aleali is a stylist/model who has managed to marry high fashion with a street style aesthetic in the most authentic way. She has this 90s vibe that has created a wave of influence just by being in it's own dope lane.
Aleali is also playing an integral part in Jordan Brand collections. When we posted about the curator of cool sharing her passion for Jumpman kicks last year, it was our hope that something was brewing. From releasing her own fresh Air Jordan 1 to being a face on Jordan's WMNS Summer '18 Collection, we know that her representation for the ladies will be a driving force in creating more of what we want.
Jordan Brand recently tapped Aleali to do some styling for them, and why not enlist some of your girls for the lookbook? Hailing from the west coast, her style inspo originates from her California roots. What we love about her, is that she carries this culture around the world wherever she goes. Teaming up with her friends Siobhan Bell and Sasha De Oliviera, Aleali chats with Jordan Brand about inspiration, style, and what to look forward to this summer. ALEALI ON GOING HARD ON THE COURT:
"We’re about going hard in whatever court your life is in. Living out your fullest potential. We’re either in Soho or London or the streets of South Central, Hollywood, Fairfax and LaBrea. We’re just trying to hold it down in our respective areas."
ALEALI ON STYLE INSPO:
"Summer 18 is a 90s basketball vibe. All our friends were heavily influenced by the ‘90s hip hop, rnb era and when you think about Jordan brand as one of the originators of sportswear as fashion, that’s where I tried to draw inspo from."
ON KEY STYLING PIECES:
Siobhan: "Comfortable sneakers. Always a crop. And I’m doing my bucket [hat] this summer."
Aleali: "There’s always a baggy silhouette somewhere in the mix."
